Senior SQL Server DBA

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will work with internal IT and development teams: Reporting, Pricing and Analytics, and IT Infrastructure to develop an understanding of data and information needs, identify solutions and improve the quality of service while providing support through the logical and physical design of databases. The Sr. DBA will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of the company databases and guarantee the data is stored securely and efficiently.


  • Maintain backups and recovery of databases
  • Develop, design, implement and debug stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexing
  • Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery plans to include quarterly testing of plans.
  • Optimize database performance and ensures availability
  • Clone, recover and migrate databases
  • Execute and maintain maintenance plans & index statistics
  • Maintain database security
  • Provide technical support to include proactive and reactive incident resolution
  • Review system logs to identify signs of potential problems
  • Write, execute, and peer review SQL, and T-SQL scripts and functions
  • Perform database upgrades
  • Minimum 5+ years direct experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Administer third-party applications that require Oracle and MS SQL server support as needed
  • SSIS package development, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 5 years+ as an experienced SQL Server DBA
  • Experience with MSSQL Server 2016 and newer
  • Experience working with scripting tools (PowerShell, OS-Level scripts, Java-Scripts)
  • Infrastructure / server management in public / private clouds utilizing Azure
  • Experience monitoring database performance
  • SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Crystal Reporting
  • Be a highly motivated individual and multitask oriented
